Not only do we love hosting parties, weddings, reunions or general shindigs, but our various event spaces are ideal for social gatherings of any size. Food and drink can be provided by our in-house restaurant Hamilton Park to keep you and your people free to keep the party going.

Not all hotels near Yale University are as corporate-friendly as The Blake. Whether it’s an academic conference, company huddle or team brainstorm session, The Blake is the ideal venue for your next corporate event. With five different meeting and event rooms that can host between 10 and 150 guests, The Blake has the perfect space to suit your needs. Our in-house restaurant, Hamilton Park, can cater breakfast, lunch, or dinner for your group any way you want it, whether that’s plated, family or buffet style.

EVENT SPACES

The Twain Room

The Twain Room is our second lobby level meeting space. Though known for his frontier ethos, Mark Twain, the grandfather of American letters, ultimately called the state of Connecticut his home. Tap into Twain’s entrepreneurial, pioneering spirit in this richly textured and homey space.

The Twain and Hepburn Rooms can be combined into a single space to accommodate large groups. We always thought those two would’ve been a power couple.

The Hepburn Room

The Hepburn Room is one of our lobby level meeting spaces. Named for Katharine Hepburn, the original actress-turned-activist and one of Connecticut’s favorite daughters – the Hepburn Room embodies the late starlet’s elegance and drive. At once inviting and efficient, these rooms are ideal for small collaborative gatherings.

The Whitney Room

The Whitney Room is our second rooftop meeting space. Named in honor of the storied inventor and New Haven native, Eli Whitney, this 620 square foot room is sure to stimulate your own ingenuity.

Additionally, the Whitney and Crandall rooms can be combined to create a dining hall that holds up to eighty guests.

The Crandall Room

The Crandall Room is one of our rooftop meeting spaces and a rare find amongst hotels in New Haven. Named for suffragette, teacher and civil rights activist, Prudence Crandall, the Crandall room celebrates her groundbreaking and selfless work. With views for miles and the amenities you need, this 620 sq. foot space can accommodate large group functions.

The Hillhouse Room

James Hillhouse is the reason New Haven is known as “Elm City.” As a developer and politician, his vision of vibrant, verdant city had an immeasurable impact on the culture of New Haven. Our rooftop boardroom – The Hillhouse Room – offers vistas of its namesake’s handiwork: the tree-lined streets of New Haven, rolling west into the Connecticut countryside. Handsomely appointed, the Hillhouse Room is the only collaborative space of its kind.

Whether you’re working or playing, our event rooms bring it all to the table. With cutting-edge projectors, oversized presentation screens and the latest AV equipment, our rooms have you covered, technologically speaking.  Pre-function and break-out areas are included with room rental, so you can warm-up before the big meeting or cluster into small, collaborative groups at any time. With valet parking and multiple table set-ups available (round, conference, or U-shaped), our comfortable and modern event rooms are the ideal choice for any gathering.
